Jan took her first black and white photography class in the fall of 2002 at Skyline College and has been with it ever since. She has recently retired, which affords her more time to spend on her photography and art. She will be obtaining a business license and begin selling her photographs, colorizations and greeting cards with photos from Jan Hanway Photography at bay area art and wine festivals beginning in 2013.

In 2006, Jan began taking Alternative Processing courses. Her repertoire of types of photography she does is as follows:

Jan has recently been given a President’s Scholarship to the Academy of Art University for the Fall 2012 semester and the Spring 2013 semester.
